Faouzia Ouhya was conceived in Casablanca, Morocco, on July 5, 2000. After a few months, her family moved from Morocco to Canada, where they settled in Carman. She began taking piano lessons when she was five years old. Her parents ensured that she was raised in the Moroccan tradition by teaching her Arabic, playing music traditional, and wearing traditional clothes on special occasions. She uses Moroccan sounds and trills in her music today, as these traditions have inspired her.
