This means that Ontario can now nominate more people for permanent residency.

So what’s New in Ontario’s Immigration Program?

The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training, and Skills Development (MoLITSD) has added 35 new National Occupation Classesification (NOC), codes to the list of eligible occupations. This update is the result of discussions with provincial stakeholders in the fall.

  • Job RequirementsUnfortunately, you will not be eligible for a full-time job unless it is at least 1,560 working hours per year and 30 working hours per week. Short-term contracts or temporary jobs will not qualify.

Who can apply for a grant?

You must meet these requirements to be eligible to apply for these amazing opportunities.

  • Work ExperienceThis experience can be accumulated over a period of three years before applying. This experience can be gained over a period of three years. You will need to prove the experience you have so be sure to keep track of all your work documents.
  • Language SkillsYou must have a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark Score of 4 in Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking in either English or French. You may need to brush-up on your language skills.
