The food and dining options on a ship can make your cruise vacation or break it. It’s one of the main things we research when choosing cruise ships. I thought it might be helpful to share some photos and thoughts from our last Norwegian Bliss Cruise.
We did a Mexican Riviera trip that started and ended in Los Angeles. This is a fantastic way to spend a day. MexicoCruise includes stops in Cabo, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta.
I went on a cruise with my son who was 10 at the time. It’s a long story as to why it was just the two of us, but the short version is that we needed to redeem a cruise travel credit that was about to expire. We chose the Pacific side of Mexico because it’s easy to get to Los AngelesFrom our home in Vancouver.
Overall, we were pleased with the Norwegian Bliss food and restaurants. The Norwegian Bliss 7-day menu is good. Mexican Riviera cruise.

- Food Republic

- Los Lobos

NOTE – We did not dine at any of the specialty restaurants.
I did NOT include speciality restaurants in my cruise price. I did not think it was worth paying extra for specialty restaurants when I was traveling together with my son.
Therefore, all of our meals onboard this cruise ship were at the included restaurants (with the exception of crepes at Coco’s).
I have heard good reviews about the specialty restaurants. I have not personally visited the Norwegian Bliss special restaurants.
My favorite Norwegian Bliss restaurant
We had a great time at Taste restaurant. The service is excellent and the space is much smaller than The Manhattan Room.
We were often given tables next to windows (see the photo above).
However, it’s important to note that dishes from Taste, Savor, The Manhattan RoomThese restaurants use the same kitchen. These restaurants use the exact same kitchen. The kitchen will serve the same menu no matter where you dine.
I spoke to a few people that prefer the larger dining area at The Manhattan restaurant. Some people (like me) prefer the smaller restaurant like Taste or Savor.
It’s a good idea to try each restaurant to see which one you prefer.
Does the menu change on Norwegian Bliss Cruise Ships
The menu on the Norwegian Bliss changes every day.
Every day, the Norwegian Bliss menu offers “Today’s Featured Entrees”. These items are subject to change throughout the cruise.
The menu is also consistent. “Classic Entrees” option. These items remain the same. If you don’t want something on the daily Featured EntreesYou can choose from these Classic Entrees.
Is the buffet available on the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship?
The Norwegian Bliss offers a fantastic buffet called the Garden Cafe.
Each morning we had breakfast from this buffet. Our usual routine was to grab food and eat on the outside deck. My son ate bacon and waffles daily, while I enjoyed eggs benedict or make-your-own-omelettes.
My favourite breakfast option is the eggs and Omelettes Station on Norwegian bliss.

You can also grab cereal boxes, milk and fresh fruit if you’re in a hurry or not interested in sitting down to eat breakfast.
Does the Norwegian Bliss offer a children’s menu?
Yes. The Norwegian Bliss does have a kid’s menu.
It is the same menu throughout the cruise. And it’s the same menu at each restaurant. The kids’ menu includes chicken fingers, hamburgers, pizzas and hot dogs. It also includes soup, macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and mac and chees.
My son was not a fan of the kids’ menu. He thought the food was dry. He tried the chicken fingers and didn’t finish it (which is highly unusual for him).
After that experience, the man chose to order off the adult menu. He liked the food more on the adult menu than the children’s menu.
Classic Entrees menu for Norwegian Bliss
The Classic Entrees stay the same all through the cruise. Below is a picture of the Norwegian Bliss Mexican Riviera menu.
I’m assuming these items will change in the future. The food on the Norwegian Bliss is shown below.
Norwegian Bliss food photos
Instead of me trying to explain each dish in details, I took pictures of the meals I had ordered. Yes, I’m THAT person.
The majority of these photos were taken in low light using my phone’s camera. Some of the photos are blurry because they were taken in low light.
As much as I’d like to have high-quality photos for the content on this travel blog, I prefer to limit the amount of food photos when dining. It feels awkward to take multiple photos of each meal, every night.
Let’s start with photos of the appetizers.

The food was excellent on the Bliss Cruise. One of the things that I enjoy about cruising is that I try something new every night.

Cruise ships are the perfect place to forget about diets.
Desserts on board the Norwegian Bliss
The dessert menus of the Norwegian Bliss ship may vary depending on the date/time you sail. The photos below of the dessert menus give you a good idea of what’s served on the cruise.
Coco’s Crepes and Chocolates
Coco Crepes, Waffles & Coffee is apparently a popular franchise restaurant. I had never heard of it until I saw this cafe/restaurant on the cruise ship.
These items are not included in the cruise package. These items will cost extra.
Above is the Crepes menu at Cocos aboard Norwegian Bliss.
My son loves icing on sugar crepes so we decided to give it a go. He gives it a thumbs up.
Dolce gelato
Dolce Gelato is another specialty treat shop aboard Norwegian Bliss. It’s also an additional expense to order items off this menu.
The District Brew House
The District Brew House is the perfect place for craft beer lovers. Below is a photo of the beer options available on our cruise.
The District Brew House offers a wide variety of craft beers from around the globe.
Starbucks on Cruise Ship
And, for those who want/need their daily Bucks fix… yes, the Norwegian Bliss cruise ship has a Starbucks onboard.
Prices are similar to those at most US Starbucks. Items are not included in an all-inclusive cruise, but can be purchased separately.
Cagney’s Steakhouse
A popular specialty cruise dining restaurant onboard Norwegian Bliss is Cagney’s Steakhouse. As mentioned above we did not dine in this steakhouse.
I did take some photos of the restaurant’s menu to share with you in this post.
Is the Norwegian Bliss Cruise Ship Allergy friendly?
Yes. I was traveling with our 10 year old and he’s allergic to dairy and eggs.
It was difficult for me to find the right items on the menu. The server shared that he noticed me struggling. You can order special meals up to a day in advance. This is an excellent option for allergy sufferers.
Travel for passengers with allergies Ask your server or host for tomorrow’s menu. Pre-order meals for the following day. The kitchen will prepare special meals to suit your diet. Below are some of the dairy- and egg-free options.
Did we enjoy the Norwegian Bliss restaurant and food?
The food and restaurants were good on the Norwegian bliss cruise. The buffets offer a good variety of food and are convenient for guests. Like most buffets, food may not be as fresh as a la carte in restaurants.
I was satisfied with the range of restaurants available on the cruise.
