Applicants, both the FSTP & CEC, Who have an existing LMIA-based work permit must:

  • Work for an employer listed in their work permit
  • Be authorised to work in Canada on the day of application for a PR Visa and the day the visa is issued
  • Accepted as a PR, their current employer will offer them a full time job.

To be eligible to receive CRS points, you must be aged under “Arranged employment”FSTP workers are required to have a job (or job offers) which:

  • Total(s) 30 hours of employment per week (if separate job offers made by up to two individual employers* are need)
  • Is/are intended for continuous, full-time paid work (at minimum 30 hours per week), spanning a period of at least a year
  • Is/are intended for work that falls within a qualified skilled trade occupation (under an eligible NOC)

The qualifying employer must have either a positive or new testimonial. LMIAThis is a letter that confirms the offer, names the worker by name and their position, or a work permit issued based on an LMIA that was positive.

This is applicable to foreign nationals currently working in Canada at a skilled trade job

Foreign nationals with existing visas are not eligible for the FSTP. Work permit based upon LMIA must:

  • Work for the employer listed on your work permit.
  • Be authorize to work in Canada, both on the day they apply for a PR visa & when the visa is issue
  • Accepted as a PR, their current employer will offer them a full time job.

Note:This full-time offer must last at least one year and be in a position that is in the same three digit level of NOC as your present job.

CRS points can be obtained by foreign nationals who have a valid LMIA exemption for one of the listed skilled occupations. “arranged employment” if:

  • The work permit specifies the employer.
  • They have worked for the employer(s), full-time, for one year (or equivalent part-time experience).
  • Who is the employer who offers you a job?
  • They have a valid offer of employment from this employer for at least a year after the date IRCC issues their PR visa.
