IRCC Updates Permanent Residence Fees Increase in 2024

Starting at  April 30, 2024The Canadian government is increasing the application fee for all permanent residents. IN which  Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced the new list of fees for permanent residence. 

The fee increase affects permit holders, families, humanitarians, and economic classes. If you intend to apply for permanent residence after April 30, please review the list. The fees for permanent residence applications increase every two years to keep pace with inflation.

The fee for a principal applicant and an accompanying spouse/common-law partner will increase from $515 up to $575 as of April 30. 2024.

for the Principal applicant & Accompanying spouse or common-law partner, theFees are increasing from $850 to $1000. For an Accompanying The increase is from $230 up to $260 for a dependent child.

How to pay for additional fees

If you receive instructions from us asking that you pay additional fees, please follow these steps.

1. Calculate your total fee difference.
   • The payable difference is the difference in the old and new fees. You can find these amounts in the payable differences column of the table below.
   • The difference in the fees payable by you, your spouse, or partner, and one dependent child (including right of permanent residency fee) for an economic immigration application (including Express Entry), would be CAN$350.
     • The difference in the fee payable for the principal applicant, and any accompanying spouse or partner, is $60 each.
     • The difference in the processing fee payable for the principal applicant, and any accompanying spouse or partner, is $100 each.
     • The processing charge payable difference for an dependent child is $30.
2. Visit the Make an Additional Payment or Pay Other Fees page in the ePayment Portal.
3. Undergraduate Students QuantityEnter the difference payable amount.
   • You’ll get 1 receipt for each payment. You can choose to pay in one payment or repeat the steps to make multiples payments.
4. Follow the instructions on the request we sent you to pay the additional fees.
