In a groundbreaking move, the Immigration, Refugees, & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has introduced a new pilot program that allows caregivers to apply for permanent residency as soon as they arrive in Canada. This initiative aims at streamlining the immigration process for caregivers. It also provides them with a path to permanently settling in Canada.
Canada has announced new, higher-paying jobs Pilot programs for caregivers as the expiry date for Canada’s existing Home Child Care Provider Pilot and the Home Support Worker Pilot approaches.

“On an annual basis, the labour force participation rate for women aged 15 years and older and all education levels grew from 58.5% in 1990 (the beginning of the current data series) to 61.5% in 2022. The rate for men declined from 76.1% to 69.5% over the same period.”
