Express entry & Canadian provincial nominees represent the 2nd largest channels for new arrivals every year into Canada, among the many other programs run by immigration refugees citizenship Canada.

This means that, out of the 485,000 immigrants who enter Canada in total, up to 220 770 will arrive via these two channels by 2024.

People who want to immigrate to Canada may ask: Should I file my profile using Base PNP or Express Entry? It is important to note that both routes are equally valid. In this section, we will look at how to decide between basic PNPs and enhanced ones.

In 2024, Express Entry, for example, will be the most popular way to enter Canada. These programs aim to bring 110,700 new permanent residents to Canada.

Each of these programs has a minimum requirement that must be met by a person before they can submit a profile to be included in the pool of candidates for Express Entry. In case someone’s eligibility is verified and they submit their profiles under any of the available programs through Express entry, then such individuals become official Express Entry candidates who possess a profile in the pool.

Applicants should now wait for a Canada Express Entry drawing (general or program-specific) that has a CRS minimum score that matches their CRS to receive an initiation – apply (ITA). After successfully submitting, anApplicants will receive a confirmation email. Express entry Alberta profile will be valid for twelve months with the candidate having the option of  z express & re-submitting it after expiry.

Upon receipt of an ITA the candidate becomes a PR applicant and must submit their application within 60 days from the date they were invited to apply by the government. Enhanced streams nominate individuals to submit an enhanced PNP application to the province or territory through invitation from the Federal Express Entry pool or from the provincial/territorial pool of eligible candidates. Those who are nominated by a province receive 600 additional CRS points. This increases their chances of obtaining an ITA from the Federal Government. What are Base Provincial Nominee Programs?

Base PNPs do not align with Express Entry streams and are not handled by a province or territory. These streams require separate applications, and they have different eligibility requirements (more about this later).

The Base Provincial Nominee Programs (or Base PNPs), which are administered by the provinces, allow them to nominate individuals who meet their local demographic and labour needs.

Each province and territory in Canada (except Nunavut, which is self-governing and does not have a specialised immigration program and Quebec) has a PNP. The eligibility depends on which program you apply for.
