IRCC Issues 975 Express Entry ITAs in the First Transport Occupation Category Draw Of 2024 – ASKMigration: Canadian Lifestyle Magazine

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada held the second Express Entry draw in March, resulting in 975 invitations-to-apply (ITAs). The category-based drawing was exclusively for candidates in transport occupations. It became the first transport occupations draws of 2024, and the third in the field. Candidates were required to have a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), minimum score of 430.

On March 12, the IRCC held a general drawing targeting workers from various fields. The IRCC issued 2,850 ITAs in the draw, focusing on candidates who were part of the three Express Entry managed programs. The minimum score required for eligibility was 525. This is 9 points lower than the previous draw on February 28, and the lowest score in general draws since 2024. The latest draw included the following eligible transport occupations:

  • Aircraft assemblers, aircraft assembly inspectors
  • Transport truck drivers
  • Train traffic controllers
  • Women who work in railway cars
  • Marine traffic regulators
  • Deck officers and water transport engineers
  • Air traffic controllers, pilots
  • Flight instructors and flight engineers
  • Aircraft mechanics and Inspectors
  • Transportation Managers

IRCC issued 16,110 ITAs to its customers in February

In February, the IRCC held six draws and invited 16,110 candidates. The month started and ended with category draws for candidates who have a high level of French proficiency. February 1 started with 7,000 invites and a CRS score minimum of 365. February 29 closed with 2,500 invites and a score minimum of 336. The last draw in the month had the lowest CRS score among all draws held in 2024.

On February 14th and 16th, two draws were held based on categories. The first draw involved 3,500 ITAs with a CRS minimum score of 422. The draw on February 16 involved 150 candidates with a CRS score minimum of 437 in the agriculture and food occupations. On February 13th and 28th, two general Express Entry draw were held. The first involved ITAs of 1,490 and a CRS score of minimum 535. The second involved 1,470 candidates and a CRS score of minimum 534.
