Postcards from Kaua’i: Dramatic landscapes, growing food scene await

The odds are not in our favour as a thick and fast-moving layer of fog continues to set in as we drive up the windy road to Kaua’i’s Waimea Canyon. In order to lower our expectations, our driver warns that we might not see anything at all in the event of a large whiteout. “I hope you get to see something,”As he pulls up to the parking lot.

We jump out of the van, not instilled with much hope, but still hoping for the better, but also expecting disappointment, and race to the lookout platform. It’s time for the moment of truth.
