Baxter Media and partners from around the world have joined forces to participate in an exclusive media FAM in Qatar, as the nation plans on showcasing what visitors can expect by 2024.

The FAM is being hosted by Discover Qatar, Qatar Airways DMC, and Qatar Tourism from February 8-12 in Doha. Its aim is to highlight some of exciting sporting events which will attract visitors worldwide.

As the world turns its attention to Qatar, events such as the FIFA World Cup and Formula 1 races have propelled this destination in the global spotlight.

The legacy of the World Cup extends far beyond the confines of the stadium, with Qatar’s visionary National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030 poised to transform the landscape of tourism in the region.

Tourism in a new era

Qatar welcomed 702,800 visitors from around the world in January 2024. This was a record for arrivals in January.

“With ambitious plans to diversify its tourism offerings and enhance infrastructure, Qatar aims to attract seven million visitors annually by 2030, signalling a new era of growth and opportunity for the country’s burgeoning tourism industry,”Saad bin Ali Al Kharji said His Excellency Saad bin Ali Al Kharji Chairman of Qatar Tourism.

Qatar and travelers alike can look forward to a lot in 2024. The 2024 World Aquatics championships (Tennis), APT TotalEnergies Open Tennis, AFC Asian Cup, and the Qatar Grand Prix build on the legacy left by the 2022 World Cup. All of these events have further cemented the country’s reputation as a premier destination for sports enthusiasts.
